Follow the Hollywood Stars to Cheyenne, Wyoming’s blue skies and welcoming people.  Part of the old west where we think about cowboys, rodeos, trains and the great outdoors, Cheyenne becomes the promising new home of the Collie Club of America 2021 National Specialty Show.  With a unique western culture, people often have come from around the world to experience the largest outdoor rodeo and the unique downtown.  You will find endless things to explore on your visit.  Close by are Yellowstone National Park, Mount Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, or Rocky Mountain National Park which you can visit on the way home from our show.

Located at the intersection of I-25 and I-80 interstates, Cheyenne is easy to get to from all over the country.  Having its own municipal airport and being only 90 miles from Denver International Airport makes Cheyenne accessible to anyone in the world.

The Event Center at Archer was chosen as the home for most of our events.  This building is only a year old with all the bells and whistles.  Conformation is in the main building on concrete.  On one end of the building is a 14,000 square foot dirt barn area which lends itself to agility, obedience, and rally.  There is a large rodeo arena that will be used for AKC Herding Instinct Test (HIT) and Farm Dog Certification Test (FDC).  For the first time CCA will offer these two pass/fail events so our exhibitors would be able to earn these AKC titles in one day.

Only 27 miles away from the Little America Resort Hotel, and 36 miles from the Event Center at Archer, is Rancho Terra Norte, in Wellington Colorado where beautiful views will greet you.  This is where the Herding Tests and Trails will be held.  This ranch is owned by a herding conglomerate, has multiple courses set up permanently.  We will be sharing four days of trials with the Buckhorn Valley Kennel Club to help split the expenses of the judges.  For our herding enthusiasts, at this same venue, after our CCA trials, BVKC will have two all-breed trials on Sunday and Monday.  BVKC will host a D Course trial on Thursday.  The ranch has room for dry camping for up to 15 rigs.  Also, the town of Wellington offers a newer Days Inn that welcomes dogs.

Our host hotel is the beautiful Little America Resort Hotel and Golf Course.  Our host hotel is only 12 miles from the Event Center at Archer.  While visiting, enjoy the beautiful pine trees and ample acres to explore this with your Collie at your side.  The ballrooms have elegant Italian chandeliers which are as beautiful to look as they are to dine under.  Warm up by the large fireplace in the lobby and daydream about the old west.  Little America has a restaurant and bar as part of its wonderful features.  Have you tried a Bison Burger lately?

Cheyenne offers multiple hotels and motels to choose from and most are dog friendly.  There are plenty of restaurants to keep you happy during this wonderful journey to the 2021 Collie Club of America National week.
